Call for Proposals (CFP) for Collaborative Research Projects between
National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (TAIWAN TECH) and
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH)
TAIWAN TECH and VILNIUS TECH have entered in to an agreement to foster a mutual collaboration with the aim of promoting their research works and achievements to both international academic and industrial communities.
As a result, researchers from both universities are invited to submit proposals for collaborative research projects. These research projects should engage researchers and personnel from both TAIWAN TECH and VILNIUS TECH.
An Assessment and Selection Committee (ASC), comprised of deans and executives from both TAIWAN TECH and VILNIUS TECH, oversees the procedures for reviewing, assessing, and selecting proposed research projects. Additionally, the ASC is responsible for allocation of funding to the approved research projects.
There are no limitations regarding the research topics.
Each research team should comprise one Principal Investigator (PI) from TAIWAN TECH and one PI from VILNIUS TECH. Inclusion of students and other personnel is optional.
1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025.
Fund for each approved project will be jointly provided by VILNIUS TECH and TAIWAN TECH, with each institution contributing up to a maximum amount — 250,000 TWD for TAIWAN TECH and 10,000 EUR for VILNIUS TECH. These funds may not be allocated for personnel costs of the PIs. Eligible costs include travel, equipment, consumables, personnel costs of researchers and students, and other expenses.

Applicants will receive notification regarding the status of their project within two months following the application deadline. The notification will include whether is the project has been approved and, if applicable, the amount of funding allocated.
A final report should be submitted to the ASC before 28 February 2026.
• A publication in a journal ranked within the first or second quartiles (Q1 or Q2) by the Journal Impact Factor (JIF) of the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science database (excluding those listed in the Emerging Science Citation Index (ESCI) database or published by MDPI) is mandatory by 31 December 2027. Personnel from both TAIWAN TECH and VILNIUS TECH should be included in the list of authors for the aforementioned papers.
