Call for 2025 ITB-NTUST Proposals

Call for Proposal (CFP) for Joint Research Program between National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB)

            

1. Purpose

NTUST and ITB have agreed to conduct a mutual collaboration to aim at promoting their research work and achievements to the international academic and industrial societies.

2. Funding

Fund for each research team shall be equally provided by ITB and NTUST, the total amount does not exceed 500,000 TWD (NTUST：up to 250,000 TWD / ITB：up to 121,000,000 IDR).

                                                                                               

3. Project Execution Period： 2025/1/1 ~ 2025/12/31

4. Topics for Collaborative Research

The research topics are not limited to any category.

5. Applicant Qualification

Researchers from both universities are encouraged to submit proposals for collaborative research projects.

Applications for the current grant will not be accepted under either circumstance:

1. Previous conducted collaborative research project (excluding the 2024 collaborative research project) is not completed or the final report is not submitted yet.
2. No associated SCI, SSCI, or A&HCI papers are published within two years after the completion of the previous conducted collaborative research project (excluding the 2024 collaborative research project).

6.    Structure of Research Team

Any research project shall consist of a research group from both parties. Principal investigator (PI) from each research group may have any other researchers or graduate students as team members.

The Project may have a researcher(s) from a third party organization if the both Parties agree.

7. Assessment and Selection Committee

An Assessment and Selection Committee (ASC), which consists of deans and executives from NTUST and

ITB, supervises the procedures for the review, assessment, and the selection of the proposed research projects. The ASC is also in charge of the allocation of funding to the approved research projects.

8. Constraints on the Use of Funding

Each university shall be responsible for the management of its own research fund in accordance with each financial rules. The funds shall be used in accordance with each financial rule. The fund can be used for travel, the expense related report meeting, equipment, consumable products, remuneration to students, and miscellaneous expenses.

9. Application Procedures

Applicants from both parties must submit project applications to school contact person in parallel by Aug. 15, 2024.

10. Reports　

A joint final report must be submitted within 2 months after the project is completed.

11. Paper

At least one paper based on this joint research program must be published within 2year after the project is completed in a reputable journal with minimum category of Q2 based on SJR (Scimago Journal and rank). Personnel from both NTUST and ITB must be listed as authors of the aforementioned papers or listed at acknowledgements of papers in accordance with authorship. The selection of journal should be agreed by both NTUST and ITB.

Article must include the following acknowledgment: Research was supported by the Joint Research Collaborative Seed Grant Program between National Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Institut Teknologi Bandung (Grant No: NTUST-ITB-2025-No).
